Redactyl runs entirely in your browser. When you open a document, it's processed on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to us, nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is stored. We never see your files or their contents.

We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect names, emails, or any personal information through this tool.

Two technical notes, for completeness. Our website host keeps standard server logs (including visitor IP addresses) for security and basic operation, as nearly all websites do. And the site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers to fetch them; that request exposes your IP address to Google in the normal way fonts are served on the web. Neither of these involves your documents.

Redactyl is a free tool, provided as-is and without warranty of any kind. We've built it carefully, but we can't guarantee it will catch every piece of sensitive information in every document, and you use it at your own risk.

Redaction is your responsibility to verify. Always check the redacted file before you share it. Automated redaction can miss things, particularly in complex document layouts, and the final responsibility for what you release rests with you, not with us. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Metrix accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of this tool, including any sensitive information that remains in a document after redaction.
